Oceanis 30.1

Smart. Easy. Comfort. Volume. These are the four founding design points of the smallest yacht in the Oceanis range by Beneteau, and together they make for an impressive little cruiser. Easy to sail but lively to helm, the robust Oceanis 30.1 opens up plenty of opportunities for families, short handed sailors, and cruisers alike. With unbeatable living space for it’s size, and a focus on simplicity, this yacht is stylish, fast, and comes with a competitive ready-to-sail price.

Key Features:

  • Large benches seating six guests with fold away table
  • Rotating mast
  • B&G Electronics pack
  • Tiller or twin steering wheels on twin rudders
  • Square-top mainsail
  • L-Shaped fitted galley
  • Lounge bench seats convert to extra berths
  • Aft cabin with twin berths
  • Gently sloping companionway
  • Self-tacking jib
  • Chined hull construction
  • Lifting keel
  • Long hull portholes

INTERIOR

This is a boat that truly maximises every inch of space. Two decent-sized cabins have berths that run lengthwise and an open entry way, which makes them feel particularly spacious. Two benches in the saloon give you an extra couple of berths, and a large shower room is divided into a marine toilet on one side and a shower/washbasin on the other. There’s plenty of storage in the L-Shaped galley, which features a 75-litre refrigerator and also a real oven under the gas hob. Everything has it’s place and is smartly laid out for functionality, as the designers intended.

EXTERIOR

The Oceanis 30.1 is stable to sail thanks to her chined construction, which reduces heel, and it is a pleasure to be aboard with plenty of cockpit space for a boat of this size. The absence of a backstay frees up space out the back and ensures free movement on deck. With a slender bow, optimised weight, stiff canvas, and square-top mainsail, she performs well at all points of sail. The self-tailing jib and single winch make an easy sailing setup for beginners or short-handed sailors, and the spread of three sails includes a large overlapping genoa, furling code zero, and an asymmetric spinnaker.

DESIGN

The design features of this clever model enable it's new owner to make some fantastic choices. These include the following:

  • Transport: With an overall size of under 9x3 meters and weighing less than 4 tonnes, the Oceanis 30.1 can be trailered by road without issues of being an extra-wide load. The lifting keel and rotating mast version allow for this boat to be used in very shallow waters.
  • Choice of helm: There's a choice between a tiller or two steering wheels, depending on whether the owner is after a more 'dinghy like' feel or a 'bigger boat' feel with space and comfort.
  • Cockpit: The double steering wheel layout results in a generously sized cockpit. On either side of the large foldaway table are two large benches, which comfortably seat up to six guests.

PERFORMANCE

The self-tailing jib and single winch make an easy sailing setup for beginners or short-handed sailors, and the spread of three sails includes a large overlapping genoa, furling code zero, and an asymmetric spinnaker. With a stemhead, a hard-chine hull, and well-proportioned sides and coachroof, the Oceanis 30.1 is stylish while meeting the double challenge of power and simple navigation.

AWARD WINNING

The Oceanis 30.1 has performed outstandingly well in the European awards season. Recognised with a prestigious European Yacht of the Year award, the highly acclaimed Oceanis 30.1 was crowned at the International Boat Show in Düsseldorf, standing out as a clear winner in the 'Family Cruiser category'. Affordability, comfort, and easy use, along with its smart design and excellent performance, are all of her winning factors. As well, Cruising Magazine has crowned the OC30.1 'Best Performance Cruiser 2020' in what was not only the largest and most competitive division in the 2020 Boat of the Year contest, but also "the most fun".
