INTERIOR

The 34.1 comes in an optional configuration of 3 cabin, 1 head or 2 cabin ,1 head with large separate shower area and the option of either a walnut or light oak finish. The saloon features a drop-leaf table, L-shaped galley and a chart table seat and lounge able to combine for another berth. The forward cabin has two generous hanging lockers. The interior has four deck hatches, four portholes and long side windows in the coamings that provide exceptional ventilation and light. The overall look is contemporary and chic, with a layout that prioritises practicality.

EXTERIOR

The redesigned cockpit on the 34.1 no longer has a backstay and instead favours a clutter-free, spacious and safe layout synonymous with this new generation of cruisers. The lines for the halyard and the furling system run forward of the cockpit with a winch on either side easily accessed by the helmsman. The transom folds down to form a luxurious bathing platform while anchored with easy access to the ocean.

PERFORMANCE

Designed for easy and comfortable cruising with more sail area than her predecessor, while being even easier to use. The hull chine helps to reduce heel and the slim profile lends itself well to the First Line performance package option. A standard equipment package (Easy Sail) welcomes a conventional 31m² mainsail and 18m² self-tacking jib and is the perfect configuration for single handed sailing. Option for an in-mast furling system makes life even easier onboard.

DESIGN

The design brief was to have maximum living space, with unmatched performance, and Marc Lombard’s team achieved this through adding extra width to a third of the bow for better close-hauled pitch control and a more stable helm when heeling. Her overall look is stylish and contemporary with a unique design that promises great livability. The flared hull design and long chine running aft ensures ample living space below deck and a high-quality cruising experience.

FIRST LINE PERFORMANCE PACK

The First Line package is a great option for thrill seekers wanting greater performance underway. The package offers a powerful square-top mainsail thanks to its rigidity and its volume at the masthead, combined with a FlatDeck genoa furler, the latter providing a larger genoa area than a traditional furler. This Performance version should preferably be combined with the standard deep-draught ballast or the hydraulic swing keel to make the most of the hull’s potential.

BOATING NZ REVIEW

“There can be a temptation, when looking at buying a cruising boat, to go a little bit large, and get a bit more than you really need. The new Beneteau Oceanis 34.1 offers its new owners everything they need in a tidy package, offering plenty of features packed into a manageable-size boat.” Read the full review here.
